About My Work
My desire to help people live better lives led me to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, which I completed in 2007. Over the course of the past 16 years, my career path has taken me through urban and rural Alberta and allowed me to work with children, adults and seniors in schools, hospitals, clinics and private practice. I am now permanently based in Edmonton in private practice, offering therapy for clients over the age of eighteen.
My areas of interest include, but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, grief and loss, anger management, emotion regulation, relationship problems, and communication.
If you have an issue that is not listed, I invite you to contact me and, together, we can explore options that may be of your benefit.
A Little More About Me
I was born and raised in Edmonton and Edmonton will always be home to me.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, baking delicious treats, practicing my photography skills, and travelling to new destinations near and far from home.
Why Psychology
I have always been inspired by Diane Ladd’s phrase, “if I can help one person in this world, then it’s enough, and I’ve done my job.”
I am always intrigued by how the personal story, experiences, and perspectives of each client are as unique as their fingerprints: everybody has them, but no two people’s prints are exactly alike.
I have always enjoyed helping people, so it was only right that I work in a profession where I can assist my clients accomplish their goals of learning effective problem solving strategies, learning how to successfully implement these techniques and enjoying a better quality of life.
A Little More About Levant
My family proudly originates from Lebanon, and I wanted a name that both acknowledged my heritage and could provide meaning to my clients.
“Levant” is a French term meaning “to rise.” It is an historical term used by the French at a time when they occupied the Middle East region. They referred to the Middle East as the Levant, or “the Eastern place, where the sun rises” (Wikipedia). Just as the sun rises to start each new day, I hope to help you look forward to those brighter days ahead.
